Magnet is a wire of a small thickness which is used in windings of small transformers, potentiometers and inductors. The wire which is usually made of copper is provided with a coating of insulating material.
Magnet wire is used wherever closely spaced winding is required.
Magnet wire can be insulated with a variety of insulation material such as mica, paper, varnish, etc.
