why called transformer rating MVA not KVA?

A Transformer can be rated in either MVA or kVA. If the capacity of the Transformer is less, say below 1000 kVA, it is described in kVA such as 500 kVA or 750 kVA.
If it has a large capacity, it is convenient to express it in MVA such as 10 MVA, 50 MVA and so on.
Transformers are generally rated in kVA and not in kW as the current will depend on the power factor of the connected load. This will determine the loading on the transformer
